There are plenty of upcoming chances to help tend to our democracy close to the roots. Several public meetings are scheduled for this week in Clarkstown.

Zoning Board of Appeals, 7 p.m., Town Hall auditorium. On the agenda are two public hearings:

  • SPLASH NANUET, LLC – 140 Route 59, Nanuet, Seeking variances for further reduction of the required buffer for an auto laundry use (Use permitted by Town Board special permit), and to allow for signage within the required buffer, and within minimum setback from designated street line.
  • SEVIM PROPERTY, LLC – 451 West Clarkstown Road, New City. Seeking variances to construct a canopy over existing gasoline pump island
