100 Firefighters Battle Nassau Blaze: Report

Four firefighters suffered injuries, according to the report.

FLORAL PARK, NY — A four-alarm fire ignited a Floral Park storefront and apartments on Monday morning, prompting roughly 100 firefighters to respond, Newsday reported.

The fire broke out around 10:20 a.m. at 266 Jericho Turnpike, where the building houses a cleaners and shoe repair business, Nassau County Fire Marshal Mike Uttaro told Newsday. Four firefighters were reportedly injured while fighting the blaze; two after a ladder truck struck an LIRR overpass, Uttaro said.
