15th Annual Casino Night to Benefit The Marty Lyons Foundation
The Marty Lyons Foundation mission is to fulfill the wishes for children who are diagnosed with life-threatening and terminal illnesses.
The Suffolk County Superintendents of Buildings and Grounds Association (SCSBGA) will host its 15th Annual Casino Night for the benefit of The Marty Lyons Foundation (MLF).
The dinner-dance and casino event will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at The Inn at East Winds, 5720 NY 25A, Wading River. The program includes: dinner: 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; dancing: 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Casino: 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with music furnished by Elan Acoustic.
According to Committee Chairman Don Wallace, “The committee members are busy planning a fantastic Casino Night experience focused on raising funds for a cause that touches all our hearts. Our sponsors, members and guests will have the opportunity to help make this year’s casino night a huge success. The Marty Lyons Foundation mission to fulfill the wishes for children who are diagnosed with life-threatening and terminal illnesses is praiseworthy and our association is honored to be able to help the foundation continue its mission.”

Over the past 35 years, The Marty Lyons Foundation, founded by defensive lineman, Marty Lyons, a 12-year veteran of the New York Jets, has granted over 7,300 wishes for special children and their families. In 1982, within a period of a week, Marty Lyons’ father, Leo, passed away suddenly; a little boy, Keith, to whom Marty was a Big Brother passed away from leukemia, and his first son Rocky was born, “Imagine being on top of the world, and in a period of seven days you are forced to see the frailty, unfairness and the wonder of life,” said Marty Lyons. “I decided to use my name and my God-given talent to make a difference in the lives of terminally-ill children.”
Today the Marty Lyons Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with 10 chapters covering 13 states.
