2 Arrested In Nassau County Attempted Burglary, Cops Say
The homeowner told police a motion alert on their video camera alerted them and they saw two males walking up their driveway.

NORTH NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A man and a teenager have been arrested in connection with an attempted burglary overnight in North New Hyde Park, police said. Officers were called around 12:50 a.m. Sunday for a report of a burglary.
The homeowner told police a motion alert on their video camera alerted them and they saw two males walking up their driveway. The resident went outside and saw someone trying to open a window to the home.
The duo took off in a stolen green Jeep Cherokee when the homeowner began yelling at them, Nassau County police said. Officers combing the area found the jeep traveling westbound on Jericho Turnpike. When officers tried to pull it over, the men refused to stop and ran off on foot on the Cross Island Parkway service road near 91st street, police said.

Officers searched the area with a police dog unit and found the men, taking them into custody without incident.
No one was hurt.

Takyler Jackson, 18, of 10th Street, and a 16-year-old boy were charged with attempted burglary, grand larceny and petit larceny. They were expected in court Monday in Hempstead.
It wasn't immediately known if they have attorneys.
