NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A chain of San Francisco-style taquerias is opening its first Long Island location in New Hyde Park on Thursday.
Dos Toros, originally from San Francisco's Mission District, came to New York City 13 years ago, and now has 18 locations of fast-casual restaurants in the New York area.
New Hyde Park's eatery, at 1624 Marcus Ave., will host a grand opening on Jan. 19 with a "Spread the Love Day," with 100 percent of sales from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. going to Cohen's Children's Medical Center in Queens.
Northwell Health hospital staff and local high school students will get a 10 percent discount at the location permanently, a company spokesperson said.
Dos Toros serves Mission-style burritos, tacos, quesadillas, a mole menu, salads and Mexican beer. The New Hyde Park Dos Toros will be the first one to offer shareable nacho dishes, the company said.
