7 People Forced From Home After Floral Park House Fire: FD

FLORAL PARK, NY — Seven people have been displaced after a Floral Park house fire on Sunday, fire marshals said.

The Floral Park Fire Department received a house fire call at 2:11 p.m. and responded to the two-story home on Lowell Ave., the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Office said.

The fire, located in the basement, was brought under control within 30 minutes by about 75 firefighters with no reported injuries, according to fire officials.

Mutual aid was provided by South Floral Park, Garden City, and New Hyde Park fire departments – all under the command of Chief Sangan, fire marshals said.

The NCFM's Office and the NCPD Arson/Bomb Squad are investigating the fire, and the Village of Floral Park Building Department was on scene, according to fire marshals.
