‘Beatlemania’ Strikes Again

"The Cast of Beatlemania" holds annual show in North Hempstead.

Always one of the biggest concert draws of the summer season, thousands of mop top fans gathered at in New Hyde Park on July 21 for what is now considered to be the annual British (Re) Invasion by the Faux Fab Foursome, otherwise known as the Cast of Beatlemania.

The Cast of Beatlemania is an international tour that has been on the road after performing on Broadway for a number of years. Carlo Cantamessa plays the late John Lennon on the rhythm guitar, Lenie Colacino plays Paul McCartney on the bass guitar, Jim Filgate plays the late George Harrison on the lead guitar, John Delgado plays Ringo Starr on the drums, and added to the quartet is Mark Templeton who plays the keyboard.

The former Broadway stars have been playing the park for the , consistently filling the venue and being requested back again and again as they take baby boomers and their children (as well as grand children) through the music of the Beatles from their initial American debut on the Ed Sullivan Show, to Sgt. Peppers and through the Abbey Road/ modern era, complete with costume changes.
