Don Barton, Herricks Technology Coordinator

Donald Barton, the longtime computer and information technology coordinator for the Herricks School District, passed away suddenly this past Friday, April 13.

Administrators and faculty were shocked at the news, as Barton had been admitted to the hospital and suddenly succumbed. No immediate cause of death was released.

Since 1989, Barton had served in Herricks as a teacher, the district computer coordinator and most recently as the district information officer.

A wake was held at the McLaughlin & Sons Funeral Home in Brooklyn on Monday and Tuesday with funeral services being held at  St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn Wednesday morning.
