Police ID Woman Killed While Crossing Street In North New Hyde Park

UPDATED Tuesday at 2:26 p.m.: The woman who was fatally struck by a SUV while crossing the street in North New Hyde Park on Monday was identified as Palma Pullo, 80, of Floral Park.

An elderly woman was fatally struck by an SUV while attempting to cross a street in North New Hyde Park on Monday morning, police say.

According to authorities, Palma Pullo, 80, of Floral Park, was attempting to cross Hillside Avenue, near a shopping center at 653 Hillside Ave., when she was struck by a 2015 Honda Pilot traveling westbound at 10:20 a.m.

The 40-year-old driver of the SUV did stop and render aid, police say. The Pullo was transported to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset where she was pronounced dead by emergency room staff at 11:12 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
