BREAKING: The woman was arrested Monday morning in Bellerose Village, police say.

A father confronted the mother of his children after police say he suspected her of driving drunk with their two children, ages 2 and 6, in the car in Bellerose Village on Monday morning.

According to authorities, police responded to 7-Eleven, located at 250-50 Jericho Turnpike, for a verbal argument between a 28-year-old man and 27-year old Westbury resident Ashley Cumbo at 1:33 a.m. Police said the man believed Cumbo to be driving their two young children around while she was under the influence of alcohol.

Officered determined Cumbo was glassy-eyed, had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on her breath and did not park her vehicle, which was occupied by her two children, properly in the lot, police say.
