Fire Atop Solar Paneled Roof In Floral Park Leaves 4 Displaced, Fire Marshal Says
The fire was called in just after 12:30 p.m. Monday, fire officials say.
FLORAL PARK, NY — Four people are out of home after an early afternoon fire broke out on the roof of their Webster Street house, the Nassau County Fire Marshal said.
The fire broke out just after 12:36 p.m. Monday, fire officials said, with the Floral Park Fire Department responding to the scene. According to fire officials, the first firefighters to reach the house saw the fire on the solar panel-covered roof of the two-story home, and received mutual aid from Elmont, Garden City, Garden City Park, Mineola, New Hyde Park and South Floral Park fire departments.
The blaze was reined in within a half hour, fire officials said, with no injuries reported to residents or firefighters.

In the aftermath of the fire, the local building department was notified, the Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced residents, and an investigation into the fire was undertaken by the fire marshal and the NCPD arson bomb squad, fire officials said.
