What An Amazing Gala!

Greater New Hyde Park Chamber of commerce
Hosts Presidents Gala Honoring Leadership and
Welcoming New Officers

The Greater New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual President’s Gala on January 21, 2026, at the New Hyde Park Inn, bringing together elected officials, business leaders, and chamber members for an evening celebrating service, achievement, and the installation of new leadership.
The well-attended event underscored the strong partnership between the local business community and government, with representation from the Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, New York State, and the Village of New Hyde Park.
The evening opened with a stirring rendition of the National Anthem led by Rosanne Spinner. Jeanette Frisina then formally introduced the evening’s honored guests. Nassau County Comptroller Elaine Phillips addressed attendees with remarks recognizing the Chamber’s contributions to the community and presented one of several congratulatory awards to outgoing Chamber President Cheryl Fajardo in recognition of her leadership and dedication.
President Fajardo reflected on the Chamber’s accomplishments during her term and expressed appreciation to the board, members, and community partners whose continued support strengthened the organization.
A highlight of the evening was the swearing-in of incoming Chamber President Dean Lykos, administered by Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jennifer DeSena. The ceremony was especially meaningful as President Lykos’s family traveled from Greece to witness the occasion. His acceptance speech, marked by gratitude and vision for the future, was met with a standing ovation.
Councilwoman Christine Liu administered the oath of office to the Executive Board, including First Vice President Zaleena Schooler, Second Vice President Richard Basulto, Third Vice President Ryan McGowan, Secretary Norma Steele, and Treasurer Richard Guilfoyle. Nassau County Legislator Scott Strauss swore in additional board members, followed by the Village of New Hyde Park Mayor, who administered the oath to newly appointed directors.
The Chamber extended its sincere thanks to all elected officials, past presidents, board members, and community partners who attended and continue to support the mission of the Greater New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce.
The 2026 President’s Gala marked a successful transition in leadership and reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to fostering a strong, vibrant, and collaborative business community in Greater New Hyde Park.
