Man Stole Credit Cards Of Elderly Women: Nassau Police
The man used the cards to make as many purchases as possible before they were cancelled, police said.
ROCKAWAY BEACH, NY — Police arrested a man who they say stole credit cards on five separate occasions in Nassau County.
Frank Rodriquez, 57, of Rockaway Beach, targeted elderly women while they shopped in Nassau County stores from March through July, detectives said. Rodriquez stole the women's purses and credit cards from their shopping carts while they were distracted looking at store items, police said. Rodriquez would then leave the store and immediately make as many purchases as possible before the credit cards were cancelled, police said.

Police used security camera footage to identify Rodriquez as the alleged thief. Police arrested him at his apartment, located at 8100 Shorefront Parkway, Rockaway Beach, Queens, without incident.
Rodriquez was charged with 25 counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and four counts of first-degree identity theft. He is scheduled to be arraigned Saturday, August 10, at First District Court, 99 Main St., Hempstead.
