Nassau Police Release Statement On Ariana Grande Concert Explosion

At least 19 people have been killed in England in what is being treated as a terrorist incident Monday.

The Nassau County Police Department released a statement on its Facebook page Monday night regarding what police have called a "terrorist incident" at an Ariana Grande concert in England that has left at least 19 people dead.

In light of tonight's tragic terror attack that took place in Manchester, England the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) is intensifying police patrols throughout local communities and has assigned officers from the NCPD’s Bureau of Special Operation and Criminal Intelligence Response Team to patrol local malls, areas of large gatherings and critical infrastructure.

NCPD officers have been trained extensively to protect residents and they have been issued ballistic helmets and vests for their patrol cars. The NCPD’s Intelligence Unit continues to work around the clock in conjunction with the Joint Terrorism Task Force to provide officers with counter-terrorism bulletins.
