Nassau Police Rescue Construction Worker Who Fell Into Pit
Police say the man fell into the 25-foot-deep pit and injured his head.

SEARINGTOWN, NY — Nassau County police officers rescued a construction worker who fell into a pit on the job site in Searingtown this morning.
According to police, while working at a construction site at 60 Shelter Rock Road at 10:16 this morning, a 36-year-old man fell into a 25-foot-deep foundation pit.
Emergency Service officers responded to the scene and used a mechanical hauling system to lower a basket down into the pit. The worker was loaded into the basket and raised up. He was in stable condition, and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of a head injury.

Police say that six officers and one sergeant worked together to rescue the worker from the pit.
