Missing Nassau Woman With Autism Found

UPDATE 11 p.m. Friday: Police say Demato has been found.

Nassau Police are searching for a 27-year-old woman with autism who hasn't been seen since she left her home Wednesday night.

Samantha Demato is considered a high-risk missing person, police said. She was last seen leaving her home on Pennsylvania Boulevard in Bellerose Village on foot at 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Demato is white, 5-foot-9 and 100 pounds. Her clothing description as well as her probable destination is unknown, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information on her whereabouts to call the Missing Persons Squad at 516-573-7347 or 911.
