LI Woman Embezzled $200,000 From Construction Company: Police
Police say she wrote herself checks and the altered the books to cover up the theft.

A Greenlawn woman was arrested on Tuesday and charged with stealing $200,000 from a construction company where she worked.
According to Nassau police, Jennifer A. Toscano, 43, of Alton Avenue, worked at SNL Construction, located at 3333 new Hyde Park Road in North Hills. Police say that, while she was working there, Toscano wrote herself five checks that totaled about $200,000 between July and November 2018. She also altered the business records to stop the theft from being discovered, police said.
Toscano, accompanied by her attorney, turned herself in to police Tuesday morning without incident.

She was charged with second-degree grand larceny, second-degree possession of a forged instrument and first-degree falsifying business records. She is scheduled to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday.
