New Hyde Park Bluedevils Extend Win Streak
New Hyde Park 15U team sweeps doubleheader from Queens Eagles.

The New Hyde Park 15 U Bluedevils swept the Queens Eagles on Sunday by the scores of 5-4 and 13-5. In the first game the Bluedevils fell behind 3-0 in the top of the first inning. Then in the bottom of the frame, Michael Greene started the comeback with a massive triple to right center, followed by a walk and steal of second by Anthony Millian, then Niko Rullo singled in both runners to cut the lead to 3-2.
After Rullo stole two bases, Kyle Cajigas delivered a single to tie the game at three. John Hayes and Ray Close walked to load the bases and while pitching to Doug Obidienzo, the opposing pitcher delivered a wild pitch and Cajigas scored the fourth run of the inning.
Liam Gallagher pitched a strong game until the sixth inning when the Eagles pushed a runner home to tie the game at four. Greene relived Gallagher in the seventh and held the Eagles in check until the bottom of the eighth. Greene and Millan started the bottom of the eighth with back to back walks where Rullo got the runners to second and third and Cajigas delivered a walk off hit to left for the 5-4 victory.
In game two the Bluedevils jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first. Rullo, Cajigas, Brandon LaFroscia loaded the bases for Anthony Pomara who delivered a 2-run double. After Pomara stole third, John Hayes drove in the third run with a fielder's choice. Then in the third the Bluedevils tacked on six more runs; Millian, Rullo, Cajigas, Pomara, Hayes, Dylan Savarese all scored in the inning.
Kyle Cajigas and Doug Obidienzo kept the Queens Eagles in check for most of the game and the Bluedevils continued to score to a final of 13-5.
