New Hyde Park Bluedevils Open Up 2013 Season with Sweep

The New Hyde Park 15U Bluedevils opened this past weekend with a pair of wins over the Smithtown Bulls.
In the first game Kyle Cajigas pitched a strong 6.2 innings, giving up one run, striking out 13 and allowing only thre hits.
In the fifth inning with the Bluedevils trailing by one run, John Hayes scored the tying run when Matt Gorman moved him over with a single and then Michael Greene beat out an infield hit. Then in the bottom of the sixth, the Bluedevils took control of the game with back-to-back singles by Dylan Savarese and Niko Rullo that was followed by a three-run homerun by Cajigas.
Anthony Millan, Liam Gallagher, John Hayes loaded the bases for Anthony Pomara who doubled in two runs. Gallagher came on in the seventh to get the final out in the 7-1 victory.
In game two the Bluedevils picked up where they left off as Greene doubled to lead off the game, Millan walked, Rullo singled in two runs, Cajigas tripled in Rullo, Hayes walked, Raymond Close singled off the second baseman's glove and Doug Obidienzo hit a long double to cap the 6-run first.
Rullo added a 2-run homerun and Greene contacted for a solo shot on the way to the 12-0 shutout.
