New Hyde Park-Garden City Park School Budget Passes

NEW HYDE PARK, NY--New Hyde Park and Garden City residents approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday.

The $40,184,675 proposed budget was approved by a margin of 698-385. The budget is a 2.39 percent increase from the current year's. It's accompanied by a 2.93 percent bump in the tax levy. That is at the district's tax levy cap, so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.

Jennifer Kerrane (801), incumbent school board president, ran unopposed. Patricia Rudd (825) retained her seat, and Kathryn Canese (822) was elected. Saadia Malik (230) and Sangeeta Nischal (208) were not elected.
