New Hyde Park Little League (NHPLL) Girls Minor Division

On May 20 Zadnik tied Franklin Square 1 by a final score of 5-5. M. Ogden hit a triple with the bases loaded as pitchers M. Bleeker and M. Bronzino worked the mound and did very well. Most of the girls are getting some good hits in and getting on the bases.

On May 23 Zadnik downed West Hempstead 2 at Stewart Manor 14-11. Ogden again had what would have been 3 triples but held up at second due to a pulled leg muscle and had 5 RBI's. Bronzino and Ogden pitched and did a really good job. Sara P caught the entire game and did amazing. She had a couple of tries at picking off the runners but they were a split second quicker to the base. M. Bleeker hit a single and a double. Emily Locker had 3 singles and Mia had 4 singles. Sara P. had 2 singles and Vanessa and Brianna each had a single as well. Brianna stole one base and Katie Hop attempted to steal home and was tagged out with a glove to the face, it might not have hurt as much if she would have been safe.

The May 24 game vs Malvern was cancelled due to rain.

On May 29 Zadnik DDS had a great game against Malverne at Averill Field winning 12-11. Marisa Ogden, Katie Hopkins and Ashley Rullo pitched very well. Ogden had seven strike outs, Hopkins and Rullo each had two. Ashley was walked three times and was able to work her way around the bases and score 3 of the runs. Katie had 2 singles, a double and she also worked her way around the bases and scored 3 of our runs. Marisa hit a single, a home run with 2 on base, walked and scored 2 runs. Tori ( from farms), Gabby, Maria, Saanvi and Kelsey each had singles. Maria and Sarah P caught the game for Zadnik and continue to build their catching confidence. Thanks to the local landscapers for supplying rakes to prep the wet field prior to play. Manager Maureen Ogden said "she is so proud of the Zadnik girls."

On May 22 NHP Mathnasium faced Floral Park at Averill South. This time the girls came ready to play ball vs Floral Park winning 10-7. Nearly every girl on the team scored and everyone got on base. It was a day for the "K" girls with Jennifer Scanlon going two for two with two RBI's and scored a run while Julia K. pitched a good game and Julia B scored a run and got on base every time. The pitchers accounted for 10 strikeouts, only 4 walks and 68 percent of their pitches being strikes.

On May 31 Mathnasiumfaced off against Franklin Square 1. The girls continue to have fun and get better every game. They have been working on their base running skills really hard and it showed off during this game. Good job Team Mathnasium. Math pulled away with another 10-7 win and the entire team deserves a highlight post.

Mathnasium is now 6-6-1.
