New Hyde Park Honors Star Student-Athletes

New Hyde Park Memorial High School seniors Christian Carrick and Ann Grimshaw were honored with the Nassau Zone Award from the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance at the Crest Hollow Country Club on Dec. 12.

Christian is a three-time All-County volleyball player and the kicker for New Hyde Park’s football team. He is also a member of the leadership physical education program and volunteers his time in the community with the Merillon Athletic Association’s Challenger Program for handicapped children.

Ann is a three-sport varsity athlete who has received All-County achievements in softball, track and field, in addition to earning All-County honorable mention in field hockey. She takes part in the leadership physical education program and is an active member of the school’s best buddies program.
