From NHP Schools: Select members of the New Hyde Park Memorial High School Marching Band were invited to “Good Morning America” to help wish Jennifer Garner a happy birthday! The April 12 show aired live on ABC from Times Square Studios, and after host Michael Strahan asked the movie star about her high school band experience, he asked her permission to celebrate her birthday early. Ten New Hyde Park band members burst onto the stage and played a rousing performance of “Happy Birthday.”

Ms. Garner was ecstatic, hugging band members and marching along with the students. The performance has been rapidly circling social media and newspaper
websites, and the band students returned to school feeling like celebrities. The following students performed at the show: Stephen DeRocchis, Chris Isaac, Leah Lalwani, Allison Marzano, Victoria McGuigan, Adam Romanelli, Prachi Shah, Jack Vasquez, Bryan Yown and Nicholas Zimmerman. “I’m very proud of my students for displaying outstanding musicianship and professionalism in this brief but high-profile performance,” Band Director Hope Bagley said. “We were honored to represent New Hyde Park on national television, and we could not have made this happen without the support of the parents and the New Hyde Park Memorial administration and staff.”
