Voters Approve NHP-GCP School Budget, Board Members Elected

Residents headed to the polls Tuesday to vote on a school budget and elect board members.

New Hyde Park-Garden City Park residents approved a 2017-18 school budget on Tuesday.

The $38,215,400 budget passed by a margin of 678-310, according to Newsday. The budget is a 1.83 percent spending increase over the current year and it comes with a 2.08 percent tax levy increase.

Residents also elected Tara Notine and James Reddan to the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park Board of Education.
