NHP Student Recognized Among Top Hispanic/Latino Students Nationwide

The high school senior was awarded for his academic success.

A New Hyde Park Memorial High School senior has been named a scholar in the College Board’s National Hispanic Recognition Program, which is designed to recognize outstanding academic achievement among Hispanic and Latino high school students.

Julian DePaz is among 5,000 Hispanic and Latino students across the nation who were recognized by the NHRP this year. Students are typically the top 2.5 percent test takers on the region.

Qualification for recognition as a scholar is based on the student’s combined math, verbal and writing skill scores on the PSAT/NMSQT taken in his or her junior year of high school, as well as a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
