NHP Students Win Physical Education Competition at Adelphi

The students competed Adelphi University's Physically Educated Student Competition last month.

New Hyde Park Memorial High School juniors Nicholas Lopez and Michaela Zabicki competed at Adelphi University's Physically Educated Student Competition on Jan. 18.

Students competed in various events at the competition, including writing an essay on why physical education is important in school, a push-up test, a basketball game, a badminton match and the PACER test (the Progressive Aerobic Cardiovascular Endurance Run).

Nicholas and Michaela finished with a first place victory as the team with the highest combined score. Michaela was the overall top winner for female students, placing first in the push-up test and second for the PACER test.
