Approximately 16,000 people turned out for a chance at their big break on Fox's reality competition show, "The X Factor" at the Nassau Coliseum Thursday.
Braving chilly temperatures, people began lining for auditions outside the coliseum in the early morning hours. Executive producers say it was the largest audition crowd in the history of the show.
Due to the huge response, producers have added an extra day to the first-round of auditions in Uniondale, adding Friday as a trout day for those interested.
Those looking to catch a glimpse of celebrity judges Simon Cowell and Demi Lovato are out of luck. The first round of auditions will not feature the judges that are seen on television.
Spots for two judges still remain open on the panel. The show's one winner will score a recording deal with Sony Music.
