Painting Of Jesus Christ On A Cross Hung From Islamic Center Fence
Police say the are investigating it as a bias incident.
NEW HYDE PARK – Nassau Police responded to the Hillside Islamic Center in New Hyde Park Friday evening after an employee discovered a large painting of Jesus Christ on a cross.
The picture was found hanging from the property’s fence on Covert Avenue around 5:43 p.m., police said.
Third Squad detectives are investigating the bias incident. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.

Hillside Islamic Center "strives to provide Islamic religious education and services to the community at large," a statement on its Facebook page reads.
