New Hyde Park Kids Hold Lemonade Stand To Aid Hurricane Harvey Victims
Every time someone made a donation the kids would cheer and applaud them like heroes.
Kids of all ages held a treat and lemonade stand on the corner of 6th Ave and Covert Avenue in New Hyde Park to raise money for Hurricane Harvey victims, Friday, September 1, 2017
$460.50 was collected at the stand in 4 hours. The kids were happy that so many people stopped and made a contribution. Every time someone made a donation the kids would cheer and applaud them like heroes.
Two young women stopped in front of the stand thanked the kids for doing their part to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey and then they shared stories of the recent visit to Texas. They spoke of the devastation they witnessed and their difficulty in reaching their family. The kids listened closely. A teary-eyed mom said: "I'm so grateful that they shared these stories with our kids"
