Tax Exemption Workshop to Be Held in New Hyde Park
Long Island is expensive. Learn how you can reduce your property tax burden.

A property tax exemption workshop will be offered in New Hyde Park for homeowners looking to reduce their property tax burden, officials announced
The workshop will be held Thursday, Sept. 22 at Hillside Public Library, located at 155 Lakeville Road in New Hyde Park.
Department of Assessment staff will be on hand to assist any homeowner who would like to file for the Veterans, Senior Citizen, Cold War Veterans, Volunteer Firefighters and Ambulance Workers, Limited Income Disability and Home Improvement property tax exemption on-site. The staff will also help homeowners already in the STAR Program file for the Enhanced STAR property tax exemption on-site.

Homeowners who will be filing for a property tax exemption are encouraged to make copies of their 2015 Federal State Income Tax Forms, Driver’s License, and any other documentation that is required to bring to the workshop.
Documentation requirements can be viewed on the application available on the Department of Assessment website.
