Located on Long Island in Wantagh, NY, what started as a department store in 1954 evolved into the bicycle and fitness store we have today. Our staff of 60 to 110 employees (seasonally) wants to make your cycling and home fitness experiences as convenient and enjoyable as possible. Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. The main emphasis of our programs is to teach children to swim correctly and develop essential water skills in a relaxed environment. Our goal driven and technique oriented approach is the key to your child's success. Through skill based quality teaching our students develop a joy for learning and a passion for swimming. At Long Island Swim School, we teach children to swim the same way the best in the world do. By using age-appropriate, proven techniques children build real skills in kick, pull, body position, and breath control. On Friday, July 10th, the Greater New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of Three Sprinkles Bake Shop, located at 775 Hillside Avenue in New Hyde Park. Owners Michelle Ciofalo and Nicole Zorbaci, welcomed friends, neighbors and community members, as they joined the ceremonial ribbon cutting, marking the exciting journey ahead. The Jay Heritage Center in Rye, New York will celebrate America at 250 with a toast to Jay Medal honorees Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annette Gordon-Reed, the Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard University and award-winning Lincoln historian Harold Holzer.
The Jay Medal for Service was created in 2012 to recognize individuals who demonstrate a selfless spirit of commitment to and engagement with their community mirroring the multifaceted contributions of John Jay and his descendants. These honorees have demonstrated through their life's work that our shared narratives as a country, complicated as they are, can be better illuminated through the highest caliber of ongoing scholarship and advocacy. Honorees are selected for their excellence in the fields of American history, environmental stewardship, social justice or civic engagement.
Joining the celebration will be Chief Judge of the State of New York and the New York Court of Appeals, Honorable Rowan D. Wilson and historian and philanthropist Elihu Rose who will present the awards at JHC's annual Soirée. Special guests will include David Blight, Frank Cogliano, Joanne Freeman, and Beverly Gage.

The Jay Medal Soirée will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Jay Estate from 5:30-9:30pm. Cocktails, dinner, award ceremony and dancing. Cocktail Attire.
