Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. The main emphasis of our programs is to teach children to swim correctly and develop essential water skills in a relaxed environment. Police are searching for two men who robbed a bank in New Hyde Park on Friday afternoon.According to Robbery Squad detectives, the men entered Valley National Bank located at 699 Hillside Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. and each passed a demand note to tellers. The tellers complied and handed over an undetermined amount of cash. The men fled on foot westbound on Hillside Avenue, police said.The first robber is described as white, in his 40s, 6-feet, facial hair, wearing a gray baseball cap, dark sunglasses, a gray T-shirt, a red long sleeved shirt, dark pants and gloves.The second robber is described as white, in his 40s, wearing a gray baseball cap, gold framed bifocal glasses, a blue hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and gloves.There were seven employees in the bank at the time of the robbery.
