Voter's Guide: Sewanhaka 2017-18 School Budget, Board Election

What you need to know for election day.

Sewanhaka residents will vote on the school district’s $193,070,535 proposed budget for the 2017-18 school year on Tuesday, May 16.

The proposal calls for a 4.85 percent increase in spending over the current year and the tax levy increase 4.8 percent, which is the allowable tax levy limit.

  • Elmont UFSD: polls open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at your designated polling place
  • Floral Park-Bellerose UFSD: polls open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. to the John Lewis Childs and Floral Park Bellerose Schools.
  • Franklin Square UFSD: polls open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at your local elementary school election district.
  • New Hyde Park-Garden City Park UFSD: polls open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Michael J. Tully Park, located at 1801 Evergreen Ave. in New Hyde Park
