Woman Wanted for North New Hyde Park Grocery Store Robbery: Police

Police are looking to identify the woman who stole items from a North New Hyde Park grocery store and assaulted someone confronting her about the thefts.

According to authorities, the woman was seen at Shop Rite, located at 2335 New Hyde Park Road, putting merchandise into her backpack and attempting to leave the store on Sunday, June 26 at 12:51 p.m. Someone confronted the woman about the theft and she subsequently punched the person in the face with a closed fist and fled the store on foot northbound on New Hyde Park Road, police say.

The woman is wanted for robbery.
