20-Year-Old Killed In Main Street Motorcycle Crash Is Identified

The driver of a car also involved in the crash remained at the scene and was said to have fully cooperated with police.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A 20-year-old New Rochelle man died hours after being involved in a motorcycle crash in the city.

The crash involving a motorcycle and car happened on Sunday, shortly after 6:30 p.m., at the intersection of Main Street and Echo Avenue. The motorcyclist, Kristopher Johnson, was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition.

Johnson died just after 1:3o a.m. on Monday. His family were at the hospital at the time of his death, according to police.

The driver of the car involved in the crash, also a New Rochelle resident, remained at the scene and was said to have fully cooperated with police.

The New Rochelle Police Traffic Unit is investigating the cause of the accident.

"The City of New Rochelle and the New Rochelle Police and Fire Departments extend sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Johnson," police officials said in a statement released on Tuesday.
