3rd March Nor'easter A Possibility In Hudson Valley

Meteorologists said the under the right conditions the storm could track closer to the coast and bring more snow to the area.

Don’t put the snow shovel away quite yet. There’s a chance you’ll be needing it again as soon as Monday. Granted, there are a few days in between Friday and Monday, and things could change, but for right now what we know is that a storm is going to track close enough to the mid-Atlantic region to possibly bring accumulating snow, rain and strong winds Sunday through Monday.

If the storm does come to fruition, it would be the third nor'easter to hit the Hudson Valley in less than two weeks, forecasters said.

"At this time, we feel there is a better than 50/50 percent chance the worst of the storm will stay to the south and east of New York City," according to AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dave Dombek. "A light amount of snow [and rain] cannot be ruled out with roads mainly [expected to stay] wet."

Hudson Valley Weather said that it is really too early to call, but they do see a storm that will develop over the southeast U.S. and will push northeastward toward the east coast.

The wild card is whether a strong northwest flow of air will help it out to sea.

“As of this post … roughly 80% of the guidance suggests that it goes out to sea,” Hudson Valley Weather said.

Fingers crossed, right?
