5-Year Fair Housing Plan: Government Meetings Week Of Jan. 30

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Henry Clay famously said, "Government is a trust and the officers of the government are trustees, and both the trust and the trustees are created for the benefit of the people."

There are plenty of upcoming chances to help tend to our democracy close to the roots. Several public meetings are scheduled for this week in New Rochelle.

  • Municipal Arts Commission Meeting - Feb. 1, 6 p.m., City Hall, 515 North Ave.
  • Public Meeting - Feb. 2, 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., Bethesda Baptist Church of New Rochelle, 71 Lincoln Ave.
    • New Rochelle's 5-year plan will include a list of housing and community development priorities to guide the city's spending plan for its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and HOME funds for 2023 - 2027. Residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about the plans, and offer comments on affordable and fair housing and other neighborhood needs. An online survey is also available in English or Spanish.
