56,000 Westchester Customers Waiting For Power Restoration

Con Edison is estimating local restoration times that vary from 3 p.m. Sunday to 11 p.m. Monday.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Only about 4,000 Con Edison power customers in Westchester County had electricity restored overnight. According to the public utilities outage website, as of 10:30 a.m. Saturday, there are just over 51,000 customers still waiting for their lights to come on.

In an outage and restoration update posted at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Con Ed said it knows "how incredibly difficult living without power is, especially now."

The company said that Westchester County, where the electric delivery system is nearly all overhead, has local restoration times that vary from 3 p.m. Sunday to 11 p.m. Monday.

The top five municipalities with outages are:

  • New Rochelle: 5,436
  • Yonkers: 4.943
  • Village of Mamaroneck: 3,642
  • Greenburgh: 3,224
  • New Castle: 2,830

There are still 5,000 NYSEG customers in Westchester without power, as of 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

  • Bedford: 1,951
  • Lewisboro: 774
  • North Salem: 1,186
  • Pound Ridge: 192
  • Somers: 418
  • Yorktown: 463
