9 LI Sound Beaches Ordered Closed By Health Department After Recent Heavy Rains

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Health officials have closed a handful of Sound Shore beaches after heavy rains moved through the region.

The Westchester County Health Department has closed the beaches preemptively for Wednesday because of 1.08 inches of rainfall over the last 24 hours.

In New Rochelle, Hudson Park Beach, Davenport Beach Club, Greentree Country Club, and the Surf Club on the Sound are closed.

In Mamaroneck, Harbor Island Park, Beach Point Club, Orienta Beach Club, and the Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club have been closed to swimmers.

In Rye, the Coveleigh Club has been ordered to close.
