Add A 'Summer Sendoff' Party To Your Back-To-School Checklist
Backpack & supply giveaways, resources to help get the most of the new year, & bounce houses create the must attend event of the season.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Saying goodbye to summer vacation isn't easy, but in New Rochelle, getting ready for the new school year and celebrating the coming of fall is half the fun.
The City of New Rochelle, in collaboration with local community organizations, has a big Summer Sendoff event planned. The grand celebration "to bid farewell to the sun-soaked season and welcome the new school year," is also a chance to set students up to succeed when they get back to the classroom.
On Saturday, all are invited to gather at Ruby Dee Park at Library Green a 1 p.m. The highlight of the event will be the distribution of free backpacks to students, ensuring they start the upcoming school year with the tools they need to thrive.
