Air Quality Alert for Westchester, Rockland

Warmer weather brings on the possible of ozone alerts in the major metropolitan area.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an air quality health advisory for Westchester and Rockland counties for Wednesday.

While the air quality index for Tuesday, May 24 was rated “good” as far as ozone is concerned, the forecast for Wednesday, May 25 is rated “unhealthy for sensitive groups.”

The federal Environmental Protection Agency website airnow.gov that for tomorrow active children and adults, and people with lung disease, such as asthma, should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.
