Almstead Tree & Shrub Care Co. Celebrates 50th Anniversary

Almstead Tree & Shrub Care Company celebrated its 50th anniversary by hosting a Family Carnival event on Sunday, July 20th at Tibbetts Brook Park in Yonkers New York.

The event featured Carnival Rides, live musical entertainment, stilt-walking, games and carnival favorites like cotton candy and popcorn.

Michael and Ken Almstead honored their father and founder of the company, Richard Almstead, with a speech highlighting some of the stories from the early years of building the company.

The guest list included employees of Almstead Tree & Shrub Care Company, both past and present, and their families, friends of the company and industry leaders.

Richard Almstead Sr. founded Almstead Tree Company in 1964. His sons, Michael and Kenneth Almstead took over the business in 2013. The company now operates 4 offices in the tri-state area, has 120 employees and cares for residential properties throughout the region, as well as commercial and municipal locations. Almstead Tree & Shrub Care is now a leader in organic tree and lawn care and prides itself on providing a full range of customer-focused services.

This year, in honor of the company’s 50th Anniversary, Almstead Tree & Shrub Care is planting 50 trees in public locations such as Wave Hill, the Village of Pelham, and Lasdon Park & Arboretum. The company is also giving away a tree through a sweepstakes on Facebook.
