State Police Taconic Parkway Crackdown Means Business: 158 Tickets Issued Over 2 Days

Most tickets in the two-day Taconic State Parkway detail involved commercial vehicles barred from parkway travel.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY —That uniquely New York "parkway window" might not help, if you don't know the rules of the road.

State Police issued 158 tickets during a recent two-day commercial vehicle enforcement detail on the Taconic State Parkway. The detail was conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday, and focused on vehicles operating in violation of parkway rules.

According to State Police, 114 of the tickets were issued for violations of parkway regulations that prohibit commercial vehicles from operating on the parkway system. Another 11 tickets were issued for violations of parkway regulations that prohibits vehicles with painted or displayed signs, names, or insignia from operating on the parkway system.

State Police said 33 tickets were issued for other violations during the detail.
