Westchester Man Who Repeatedly Sexually Abused 12-Year-Old, Attempted To Bribe Victim From Jail, Gets Prison

In addition to trying to influence the victim's testimony, the Port Chester man attempted to smear the victim during the trial, the DA said.

“Nobody, especially a child, should ever be subjected to the horrific sexual abuse this 12-year-old endured, only to then be forced to face her abuser in court after he refused to take responsibility for his abhorrent conduct," DA Cacace said. (David Giuliani/Patch)

PORT CHESTER, NY — A Westchester man who repeatedly sexually abused a 12-year-old child and attempted to cover up his crimes through bribery, will likely now spend decades behind bars.

Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace announced today that the Port Chester man was sentenced to up to 31 years in prison.

Segundo Pucha-Carchi, 56, was sentenced Tuesday in Westchester County Court to 25 years in state prison for course of sexual conduct in the first degree and an additional 2 to 6 years for bribing a witness, to be served consecutively. He will also serve 20 years of post-release supervision and be required to register as a sex offender.

On June 24, a jury found Pucha-Carchi guilty.

"Nobody, especially a child, should ever be subjected to the horrific sexual abuse this 12-year-old endured, only to then be forced to face her abuser in court after he refused to take responsibility for his abhorrent conduct," Cacace said. "I commend this young survivor for the remarkable courage it took to come forward and the incredible strength she showed testifying against her abuser in court. This sentence sends a clear message that sexual predators will be held accountable and that my office will do everything in its power to protect our children and keep our community safe."

Between December 2023 and October 2024, Pucha-Carchi repeatedly subjected the victim, a 12-year-old girl, to multiple sexual acts. In December 2024, following his arrest and while remanded at the Westchester County Jail, he violated an order of protection and attempted to influence the victim's testimony through bribery and witness tampering.

The Port Chester Police Department handled the investigation. The case was prosecuted by Senior Assistant District Attorney Stephanie Baehr and Assistant District Attorney Paige Pirtle, both of the Special Prosecutions Division.
