NEW ROCHELLE, NY — It appears that someone forgot the first rule of visiting an illicit underground gambling den — don't talk about visiting an illicit underground gambling den.
On Friday, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of the New Rochelle Police Department Criminal Investigations Division executed a search warrant at 142 Union Avenue.
During the search at the Union Avenue Sports Bar, investigators report locating a private room in the rear of the establishment containing illicit gambling activity.
Four video-style slot machines were seized, according to police.
The establishment's owner Gisselle Lopez, 35, was charged with four counts of possession of a gambling device, and a single count of promoting gambling. She was issued a Desk Appearance Ticket returnable on Sept. 1, and released.
The business will also be referred to the New York State Liquor Authority for violations and license review, according to NRPD
