NEW ROCHELLE, NY —Police are investigates a deadly early morning motorcycle crash in Westchester County.
At around midnight on Tuesday, the New Rochelle Police Department responded to a report of a serious motorcycle accident on the northbound lane of Pinebrook Boulevard near the intersection of Beechmont Drive.
At the scene, officers discovered that a motorcycle had collided with a metal bollard surrounding an electrical utility box just off the roadway. The driver, a 27-year-old man from New Rochelle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, an 18-year-old man, had minor injuries and was treated by emergency medical personnel.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation, according to police. The identities of both the driver, who was killed, and the passenger are being withheld pending proper notification of family members, authorities said.
