Good Times Have Come To 'The End,' But Don't Worry, The Party Is Just Getting Started

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The historic space at 765 Pelham Rd., in New Rochelle, has undergone plenty of changes over the decades, but it has never looked more inviting than it does right now.

As the proud owner, Gianni Liporace, unveiled the cozy, but contemporary pub space on the Long Island Sound Shore, he also showed us a vision of a place where everybody knows your name (though it may be cheating a little when those names start with titles of Mayor, Councilperson and Legislator).

Despite the selection of high-end spirits and craft beers, The End Tavern has the approachable feel of a neighborhood bar. If Liporace's friends and family, who were at a ribbon-cutting celebration on Thursday are any indication, then that friends and neighbors feeling will endure whether you visit from down the road, or from a bit farther away.

"We are excited to be here in New Rochelle," Liporace told his very first guests. "The End Tavern, we're excited to be here to build a place for the community, to the surrounding people. A place where everybody can come, kick back, have a drink, relax, meet new friends, and strike up a great conversation. We're really, really excited."

Good times have finally come to The End, but the real party kicks off this weekend. On Friday and Saturday nights, DJ Nitro will help ring in the grand opening celebrations.

This reporter has seen enough already to be convinced that the story of The End Tavern could use much more exhaustive research (ideally from the barstool closest to the jukebox).
