• New Rochelle Breaks Ground on Comfort Station at Ward Acres Park (talkofthesound.com) — Construction is underway on a new comfort station at Ward Acres Park in New Rochelle, bringing long-planned accessibility and amenity upgrades closer to reality. Expect temporary lane closures on Quaker Ridge Road as crews complete utility and infrastructure work. City leaders say the project is part of a broader effort to restore historic features and improve visitor access throughout the park.
• Rye, John Jay, New Rochelle top lohud boys soccer preseason rankings (bluewaterhealthyliving.com) — New Rochelle High's boys soccer team opens the season ranked third in lohud's Section 1 preseason power rankings, after sharing last year's AAA title and reaching penalties in the final. Despite graduating standout goalkeeper Jero Velasquez, the Huguenots return several key players and are expected to contend again in a highly competitive regional field.
