• Mount Vernon man sentenced for gun sales, break-ins at storage facility (lohud.com) — A Mount Vernon man has been sentenced to six years in prison after stealing guns from a New Rochelle storage unit and selling them to an undercover state trooper. The case, investigated with help from New Rochelle police, uncovered a string of storage break-ins and an additional gun sale arranged after his initial arrest, highlighting ongoing concerns about illegal firearms in Westchester communities.
• Football Recap: New Rochelle Escapes with a Win (maxpreps.com) — New Rochelle High School's Huguenots edged Kellenberg Memorial 23-21 in a nail-biting home opener, pulling ahead after a 14-14 halftime tie. Local fans can now look ahead to their first in-conference test, when New Rochelle hosts Mount Vernon at 5 p.m. on the 18th.
