• Fresh cuts, fresh start: New Rochelle kids get free back-to-school haircuts (news12.com) — New Rochelle families just got a big back‑to‑school boost, with more than 50 local elementary students receiving free haircuts at Maciel's and Tres Golpes barbershops through a partnership between Better Way New York and the New Rochelle Police Department. Organizers say the annual event, now in its sixth year, strengthens community ties while giving kids extra confidence heading into the first day of classes.
   

• Illuminating the Sound: Autumn Glow Festival Brings Handcrafted Chinese Lantern Experience to Glen Island Park This Fall (thecitylife.org) — New Rochelle's Glen Island Park will light up this fall as the Autumn Glow Festival brings hundreds of handcrafted Chinese lanterns and LED displays to the waterfront from September 11 through November 1. Residents can enjoy illuminated trails, food trucks, and Long Island Sound views on weekend evenings, with early‑bird tickets starting at $16 and advance reservations recommended.
